Adonna Gladden

July 28, 1932 — April 30, 2018

On April 30, 2018 Adonna Ann Gladden passed on to heaven to join her beloved husband Jack, who left this earth 9 years ago.

Adonna was born on July 28, 1932 to John and Cordelia Robinson in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. In 1951, she married Jack William Gladden. In later years he affectionately gave her the endearing name of "wife", which added a bit of loving humor to their marriage.

They moved to Wickenburg in 1957, where they raised their family of three boys. Adonna was a devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with any and all the special little children who came into her life.

Her kind, sweet face could be found in the front office of Dr. Kliewer's and Dr. Miller's clinic, where she worked for many years. After retirement, she volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Hospice of the Valley. She had a natural gift for caring for people and was a caregiver for a number of people in Wickenburg. Her heart of gold was loved and admired by her friends and family.

Adonna was known to those around her as a woman of faith. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Hobbies and fun things that she enjoyed included: quilting, gardening, playing games, and for years she seldom missed a yard sale. She was also a collector of "Precious Moments" figurines.

She is survived by: sons, Michael (Barb) Gladden, Douglas Gladden, Greg (Mary Jane) Gladden; nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

The loss of Adonna will leave a vacant place in our hearts and she will be missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life in Adonna's honor will be held at the Wickenburg Funeral Home on May 12 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Hospice of the Valley.
