Berry Batterton

December 2, 1960 — August 7, 2019

Berry Thomas Batterton, age 58 passed away at home on August 7th, 2019 in Wickenburg, AZ. He was surrounded by his loving family.



Berry was born in Winchester, Kentucky on December 2, 1960. He was born to Carolyn Abner. He helped raise his brothers and sister until he joined the Navy in 1979.



In his adventures, he met the love of his life, Denise (Squeeky) Dotson. They were married in Norfolk, Virginia and were married for 38 years. Berry and Denise had 2 loving daughters.



Berry had a long and distinguished Navy career. He was Senior Chief Petty Officer in the fire control. In his career he commissioned USS Antrim and the USS Carr. He also served on the USS John A Moore. He served 20 years and ended his career as a Naval recruiter where he led many young people to serve their country, including his own nephew and close friend Cassie Gibson.



In retirement he continued to work in managerial positions. He and his daughter completed Real Estate school together and worked together for several years around a wonderful bunch of local realtors! He was very intelligent and a driven man. Berry was very much a part of the Wickenburg Community. He participated in many school functions to help his grandchildren whom he loved very much.



Berry is survived by his loving wife, Denise (Squeeky) Batterton, his daughter RandiJo (Jesse) Bowser, daughter Keri Batterton, grandsons Coy, Jace and granddaughter Ellie. He is also survived by many other family members who loved him so!



His services will be at Mt. Hope Assembly of God in Wickenburg, AZ at 550 Penn Lane at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 10th.
