Betty Lou Hanson
Betty Lou Hanson passed away on Sunday September 11, 2022. Betty was born on August 7, 1940 in rural Wisconsin. She married her high school sweetheart, Russ Hanson, on November 7, 1959. Russ passed away on December 28, 2021. She worked in the banking industry and was bookkeeper for Russ's excavating business until 1985 when they moved to Wickenburg AZ. Betty worked at the Meadows in Wickenburg for 20 years and retired in 2014.
Betty is survived by her children, Cary Hanson, Wickenburg, AZ, Kathy Barry, Cupertino, CA, Lisa Hanson, Madison, WI, Paul Hanson Arvada, CO, Chris Hanson, Thornton, CO, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sylvia (Wally) Yount, and sister, JoAnne Kostka.
Betty was an avid gardener in Wisconsin and supplied the family with produce from season to season. She enjoyed reading, bowling, hiking, walking, bicycling, and was an excellent seamstress. She was known for always being very clean, tidy, organized, and her exceptional work ethic! She was an outstanding baker and cook! She was a wonderful dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and sweetheart to all. She was filled with love and deeply rooted in her Catholic faith.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
