Beverley Jean Stephenson, age 71, passed away February 8, 2016 at her home in Aguila, Az. She was born May 20, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. The family moved to Corona Ca, in 1948 and Bev graduated from High School in 1961. She attended college at Mount Sac. From there Bev had numerous jobs mostly in retail. She later took a job in management at a Sportsman's Mall in Fairbanks, Alaska eventually returning to Seattle where she took a job with AT&T working until 2010 when she retired. During all these years Bev was a member of many service organizations including Eastern Star, Pocahontas Lodge, Lady Moose Lodge and Lions International where she served as district governor. Bev loved baking and even had a catering business, baking cakes for any occasion. She was a very artistic and creative person which was always revealed in her baking talents. Though she had many physical struggles, her life was fulfilled helping others in need, through family and her many friends, especially her life partner Rod Elg, whom she met in Alaska. They spent the winter months in Arizona. Beverley is survived by her life partner Rod Elg of Aguila, her two sisters, Barbara A Kessel, (Ted) of Fargo, ND; B. Eliza Stephenson (Bette Larkin), of Cle Elum, WA; Niece, Anne (Matt) Tweedy and great nephews: Cole, Hayden, & Lucas of Yakima, WA; nephew, Craig, (Lisa) great nephew, Austin, and great nieces, Adelyn Jane, & Claire Elizabeth of Medina, MN; & nephew, Ryan (Tracy) and great nephews, Peyton, Reis, & Drew of Fargo, ND.
Memorials may be given to Hospice Promise of Surprise, AZ; Lions International, or any charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Eagle's Roost Community Center in Aguila, AZ. Committal Services with interment will take place on Friday, April 8th at 1:00 PM at the Pierce Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery Chapel 11500 Arlington Ave in Norco, Ca. 92505
