C. Chesley

August 28, 1927 — November 3, 2009

Clarence Hubert Chesley BORN on August 27th 1927, at 7 months of term, son of Bernetti Birdi Matney, wife and homemaker, and Swain Finch Chesley, Barber, (divorced in 1928,) a premie baby, born whole and healthy. His mother, Netti, for the first month or so of Hubert's life, had the help of all the ladies of the whole town of Prosser, Washington. Not Netti's first child, but one that survived due to good care. Hubert's been well taken care of by the ladies all his life. A fact he always wanted known. (The doctor didn't think he'd live long and Hubert laughs at that all the time. But the ladies saw to it that he would live.) To beat the odds in life is something that Hubert enjoys laughing at. . . . Hubert - August 27, 1927, to November 3, 2009; born into a glorious time of invention and growth in the 20th century. A Generous, open, and giving man, willing to teach anyone that wanted to learn what he knew, if they were able to listen and ask questions, and learn. He taught young men many things, driving (even a friends daughter how to drive), electronics, mechanics, radio operations, antenna set ups and trouble shooting. He could trace down a component and replace it cheaper for most the time than buying a new product. In his life he would walk the beach and clam dig, he'd camp in the motor home in the woods, scrounge around in the desert for rocks with friends and like clock work every morning be on the "air" conversing, kabittzing and keeping in contact with friends. Mainly Hubert enjoyed his life as best he could. Silent K 7 L R J. He truly enjoyed Yarnell and the people and will be missed by all. Hubert was preceded in death by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Chesley in 2002. He is survived by his fiance, Melanie Mathers of Yarnell and son Charles "Chuck" Chesley of Squim, Washington and a host of friends.
