Dale Smith Warren, age 87, passed away June 17, 2016 in Sun City West, Arizona. Dale was born November 17, 1928 in Boulder, Colorado to Charles Shadrack & Lora Hines Warren. He attended schools there during his early years with the family moving to Litchfield Park, Arizona and eventually to National City, California where Dale graduated from Sweetwater Union High School. He served in the Army National Guard and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a Bachelors and Masters in Civil Engineering. He joined the McDonnell-Douglas Engineering Department in Long Beach, California where he worked for 39 years retiring as Vice President and Chief Technologist of McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Company. He then served as engineering consultant and chair of the Subcommittee on Aircraft Safety of the Federal Aviation Administration's Research, Engineering and Development Advisory Committee. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Flight Safety Foundation Board of Governors.
He and wife Reba moved to Durango, Colorado where Dale was able to enjoy maintaining and flying his airplane. He also loved motorcycles and midget race cars collecting and repairing firearms, and antique tractors. In 2013 they moved to Arizona to a warmer climate settling in Wickenburg. He was preceded in death by his brother Eyvan Wendell "Reddy Fox or Red" Warren and his sister Eunice Evelyn "Penny" Del Llano. Dale is survived by his wife Reba of Wickenburg, sons Brian ( and wife Melody) Warren of Reno, Nevada and Kurt Warren of Farmington, Utah and 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Grandchildren on Brian's side include Jessica, Chelsea, Felicity and Annelise, and great-grandchildren: Asher, Scarlett, and Graham. Grandchildren on Kurt's side include David(deceased), Geoffrey, Danny, Steven, Michelle, Michael, Christine, Nathan and Jade, and great-grandchildren: Arianna, Kyrie, Aleia, Seth and Brekklyn (plus one more on the way).
