Della Mae Petersen, age 73, was born in Vandalia, Illinois on December 21, 1946 and went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Az.



Della was the daughter of Reverend Marvin and Christine Elam. She graduated in 1964 from Wickenburg High School, and married Paul Petersen Sr. on March 20, 1966. She worked as a registered nurse at Valley View, Wickenburg, Dell Webb, and Arrowhead hospital where she retired in 2014.



Della was an exceptional human with a beautiful smile. She was a selfless person, amazing mother, dear friend, compassionate person, and a hero to many. She loved God first and foremost, lived her life for Him, and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church Wickenburg. She loved her family with all her heart and treasured her time spent with her parents, husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She loved to sing, camp, travel, and live life to the fullest.



Della was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Christine Elam and nephews John Hull and Karl Elam.



She is survived by her loving husband Paul Petersen Sr. of Wickenburg, children Paul Petersen Jr. (Brenda) of Surprise, Phillip Petersen of Kingman, Kim Petersen of Kingman, Kristi Pickrell of Wickenburg, Sheri Brink, brother Robert Elam (Ruby) of Mesa, sisters Doris Ritter (Larry) of Wickenburg, Alma Melton (Gary) of Surprise, and Sheryl McKelvey of North Carolina, grandchildren Brittney Kelley, Kyle Brink, Jeannie Mulisimo (Ludy) and kids, Ashley Petersen, Amber Petersen, PJ Petersen, Cole Pickrell, Trey Petersen, and RaeLyn Petersen, great grandchildren McKenna and Copeland Kelley, and many special nieces and nephews.



A Family Memorial Service will be held on July 11, 2020 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Wickenburg. There will be a live video link available for public viewing during the services. http://www.facebook.com/fsbcwickenburg/live/
