With sadness and fondness the world said goodbye to Donna Marie McCoy on May 11th, 2017.
Donna passed away in her home, as she wished, with her daughter Amy at her side, at 12:54 am; the exact time and day that Donna's granddaughter Ruby was born 24 years ago. It was also the full moon night known as Buddha Purnima, when the Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and also passed away at the age of eighty. Donna had recently celebrated her 80th birthday on April 20, 2017, surrounded by friends and family. She had also told her caregiver, also named Amy, just a few weeks beforehand that she considered herself to be Buddhist.
