Doris Handley

Doris Mae "Dody" Handley was born January 1, 1925 in Jeanette, Pennsylvania to Henry John Appel and Agnes Geus Appel. She was raised in Jeanette and attended schools there. Following her schooling she moved to California and began working for Rohr Aircraft where she met Lud Handley. They married October 6, 1945 making their home in the Chula Vista area. She was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Chula Vista and a member of the Genealogical Society of San Diego. She was preceded in death by her husband Lud Handley in 2000. She moved to Arizona in 2002 settling in El Mirage. Dody is survived by her daughter & son in law Karen & Dan Shoulders of Phoenix and step-daughter Sheila Wiman of Congress, Az., sister Kay Petroy of Virginia and grandchildren: Jeff Shoulders, Aimee Andela (Chris) both of Phoenix, Ray Wiman(Gina) of Hot Springs, AR. Carl Wiman (Maggie) of Wittmann, Az. and great-grandchidlren: Kristina, Katrina, Kathleen and Carl, Jr.
