Surprise, AZ--Evelyn "Babe" Rubash, 94, of Wickenburg, AZ, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Loving Heart Group Home in Surprise, AZ. She was born June 26, 1923 in Peeples Valley, Arizona, the daughter of George and Woodruff (Brazel) Leisering and married Arthur Rubash on December 24, 1937. Babe was a life-long resident of Wickenburg, Arizona. She was a homemaker and worked at the Gold Nugget Restaurant in Wickenburg for many years. She was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. After retiring she volunteered in the gift shop at the Wickenburg Hospital. Babe enjoyed having friends stop by to see her at her home and loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Sharon) Rubash of Payson, AZ, Jimmy Rubash of Wickenburg, daughters Wilma (Arvid) Burnham of Woodland Park, CO, Myrna (Karlin) Wyse of Archbold, OH, daughter-in- law Erlene Rubash of Glendale, AZ, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Rubash, son Billy Rubash, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at The Calvary Baptist Church on February 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Demeter officiating. Interment will be in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
