GILL, GLENN FREDERICK 77, passed away on December 5, 2015 from complications related to Alzheimer's. His family misses him dearly and is still looking for his favorite coffee cup, his black belt and his cell phone.
Glenn was born in Easton, Pennsylvania on February 25, 1938 to Joseph T. Gill and K. Marie (Schlabach) Gill. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1956 and received his BA in Geography from Syracuse University in 1960, which according to him is why he never got lost. He was very proud to have been a part of the first and only Syracuse National Football Championship (Cotton Bowl) in 1959. He was a Ranger and a 2nd Lieutenant in the US army, which he was also proud of. His answer to every question regarding his safety on his beloved hikes through the desert without a drop of water was, "I was a Ranger".
He spent most of his career in sales with Martin Guitar and Bromm Chevrolet (where he was the Finance and Insurance agent). For 8 years before his retirement, he served as the Constable for the Hassayampa Justice Court for Maricopa County. This should have been his lifetime career as he was so kind and caring to the people he served. Glenn had a love of driving around and visiting with people which made it the perfect job for him. Glenn enjoyed roping with his cousin Gill Snyder, watching football games with Al DelTufo, and later in life his lunches with John Bellom and the guys. He spent many hours cheering aka "yelling very loudly" from the sidelines at his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He was a loyal fan and would have loved seeing his grandson Riley's senior year playing football.
Glenn had a wonderful smile for everyone and kept that part of him almost to the end. We will miss that twinkle in his eye and beautiful smile everyday.
He is survived by his wife Sandee; daughters Tiffany (Ray) Schuck, Tracy Delano (Steve Romero), son Clay (Christina) Gill; grandchildren Reed and Riley Schuck, Alexandra (Alex) and Jadon Gill, He is also survived by his brother Joseph (Nancy) Gill, nephews Joey, Michael and niece Julie; cousin Marguerite Snyder and his faithful hiking companion, Baxter, his beloved Chocolate Lab.
Memorial will be held January 10, 2015 at 12:00 PM at the Coffinger Park Ramada in Wickenburg.
