Harold Sturtz

Harold D. Sturtz, age 91, passed away December 11, 2016 at his home in Morristown, Arizona. Harold was born November 10. 1925 in La Porte City, Iowa to Arthur Sturtz and Alice Van Fleet-Sturtz. Harold was raised in Brandon, Iowa and attended schools there. He later served in the U.S. Navy and was recipient of the Purple Heart.
Following his military service he married Mary M. Bennet making their home in Washburn, Iowa. They became a husband-wife ministry team and pastored the Calvary Cathedral Church in Waterloo, Iowa for over 20 years. Harold was a member of the Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association and very active in the community. They retired and came to the Wickenburg area in 1998. Harold was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 2007, brothers Allen & Donald Sturtz and sisters Sandra Platt and Marilyn Sturtz.
He is survived by daughters: Sylvia (Richard) Beahr of Ennis, Texas, Sharon Myers of Wickenburg and Brenda Long of Morristown and grandchildren: Rich Beahr, Brenton Beahr, Shannon Rousselow, Ashlee Sievert, Amber Schmidt, Christian Sturtz and Meredith Burkes and great-grandchildren: Sheena, Chelsea, Drake, Meaghan, Tristan, Bella, Joel, Elijah, Dalton, Zoey and Aria.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Hope Assembly of God Church in Wickenburg.
