Jacqueline Badowski

May 1, 1943 — August 24, 2017

Jacqueline "Jackie" Ann Badowski passed away very peacefully on August 24, 2017.

Visitation is at Wickenburg Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 30, 3 to 6 pm. A funeral mass will be at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Thursday, August 31 at 2 pm. Burial at Wickenburg Cemetery to follow. Celebration of Life at Rancho De Los Caballeros Golf Club begins 5pm.

The second of Jeanne and Steven Favia's eight children, Jackie was born in Chicago on May 1, 1943. She met Ron Badowski, her devoted husband of 54 years, at "the Swank" roller skating rink in Chicago at the age of 19. They became skating partners and went on to win the Illinois State Championships in singles, pairs and dance. With the help of her father, Steve, they built a home in the suburbs of Chicago, where they began raising their family. The cold Illinois winters took their toll, and Jackie gave Ron an ultimatum "no more Chicago winters. Get me the hell out of here!" So, in October of 1977, they purchased a small accounting firm and made the big move to Wickenburg, Arizona, where they quickly became active members of the community in which they soon grew to love. Jackie and Ron were members of Wickenburg Country Club, and charter members of Los Caballeros golf club, where she holds a record-breaking 12 women's club championships. She was a member of the Wickenburg Library Board and Friends of Music. Jackie was an AVID Suns fan and never missed a game. In the "off season", Jackie and Ron traveled and cruised extensively, visiting North and South America, Europe and Asia. With her family, Jackie enjoyed, skiing, golfing, tennis and shopping! She was a fervent reader with a passion for European and World War II history. Those who knew Jackie knew that her proudest and most gratifying role was that of grandmother. She never missed an opportunity to share and brag about all of her "amazing grandchildren." She was fortunate to have numerous friends and family who were cordial enough to listen to and enjoy every word.

Jackie is survived by her husband Ron, her three children, Michelle (Dean) White, Michael (Jessica)Badowski and Missy (Rob) Root, and 10 grandchildren, the lights of her life, Logan, Maxwell, Riley, Shane and Sadie White, Isaac and Elizabeth Badowski and Addamae, Charles and Henry Root. She is also survived by her six sisters; Sandy, Susie, Joyce, Jan, EvaKay and Gina, and brother, Jim. Her parents, Steven and Jeanne, and her brother Steve predeceased her.

She was a beloved friend, wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She is deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hospice of the Valley, the Del E Webb Center for the Performing Arts, or the Wickenburg Public Library.
