James Johnston

James "Jim" W. Johnston, age 80, passed away May 30, 2015 at his home in Peeples Valley. Jim was born January 15, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jeff & Gertrude Johnston. He was raised and attended schools in Des Moines and later served in the U.S. Army. Following his military service he moved to California working construction. He moved to Arizona in the 1970's settling in Phoenix and began working in computer programing. He married Linda Luck in May of 1984 making their home in Phoenix. Jim later began working with Maricopa County in the vehicle maintenance division as a mechanic which he enjoyed, working until he retired in 1991. He and Linda moved to Peeples Valley in 1993. Jim was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking & camping and was an excellent mechanic. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Lori Langos of Des Moines, son Jeff Parsley of Tennessee and grandchildren: Mitchell, Chase, Sydney, Kassandra and Kyle. a visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2014 from 10:00 AM to Noon with a service at 11:00 AM at the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
