Jimmy Ray O'Dell, Sr., age 81, passed away January 16, 2016 in Wickenburg, Arizona. Jimmy was born September 3, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas to Russell and Helen O'Dell.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957. He married Mary Johnson in 1956 in South Carolina and they made their home in Kansas. He began working self-employed as a contractor primarily industrial contracting in agriculture. He later began working as a private investigator which he did until retiring in 2001. Jimmy and Mary moved to Arizona in 1995 and eventually to Wickenburg in 1998. He enjoyed car racing and raced and was a member of the Sports Car Club of America. He was also a former member of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse. Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother Jerry O'Dell in 2004. He is survived by his wife Mary of Wickenburg and sons & daughters in law, Jim, Jr. & Cheri O'Dell of Queen Creek, Arizona and David & Cristina O'Dell of Katy, Texas, a brother Mike O'Dell of Clinton, Mo. and four grandchildren: Cory O'Dell, Sarah O'Dell, Laura Carter & Dani Lopez and 2 great-grandchildren: Addisyn and Kyler O'Dell.
