Obituary

John Cook, Jr., age 64, of Wickenburg, passed away on Aug. 3, 2026, at

HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 27, 1961, in

Thibodaux, La.
An avid lover of the outdoors, John was happiest when he was out on the water in his kayak or embracing nature. Friends and neighbors often saw him enjoying his morning walks through downtown Wickenburg and around Coffinger Park.

Staying true to his Louisiana roots, he had a lifelong passion for good Cajun cooking and loved anything spicy.

Above all, John was a man of deep personal faith, who treasured his family more than anything and never missed an opportunity to say "I love you." He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his father, John H. Cook, Sr. (Donna); his mother, Melba Wakefield; sisters, Marilyn Kauffman and Karen Bardin (Jim) all of Wickenburg; brother, Chad Cook of Cordes Junction; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, David Shannon Cook, in 2022.

Services will be held Saturday, August 15, at 11 a.m. at The Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel, 187 N. Adams St., followed by a luncheon for family and friends at The Potter's House Church, 213 W. Apache Street, Wickenburg.
