Katie Lou Hartman-Scott was a graduate of Mesa High School in 1953. In her youth she produced the distinctive design cover for the yearbook "Superstition" Mesa High, belonged to Rainbow Girls and American Legion Daughters. She honor rolled and earned degrees at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She was an accomplished window designer at Neiman Marcus in Dallas. She always excelled in everything related to her passion of design and had a love for the arts, "Friends of Music" and education; exemplified by her lifelong support of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and the Women's organization P.E.O. Her joys were sewing, baking, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, arts & crafts, reading, game show "Jeopardy", playing bridge. She married Ralph Scott in 1959 and celebrated 50+ years until his passing in 2015. She is survived by her two children: Susan Irene (Eric) Bang of Reno, Nv and Craig Phillip Scott (Chris Berry) of Peoria, AZ as well as 3 grandchildren: Jason, Evan and Jenny Bang and 2 great-granddaughters Kaydence and Emberly Bang, Brothers Jim & wife Sandi Hartman of Wickenburg and Mc D and wife Shirley Ann Hartman, and numerous nieces and nephews
Katie really set the standard high for a great wife and mother, educator, mentor and designer. We will all truly miss you Mom.
