Larry Swift

Larry Allen Swift, age 78, passed away on September 3, 2022, in Wickenburg, AZ. Born January 3, 1944 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, Larry was the son of Richard Allen and Cecil Kathleen Badger. He attended high school at Carl Hayden in Phoenix, AZ.



Larry worked at Standard Oil in Wickenburg, AZ before working in the Copper mines in Superior, AZ. He married Janice Swift on March 20, 1983, in Yuma, AZ. Together, they raised their combined four children. His love for cars and racing would later influence his career, becoming a certified master mechanic who paved the way for mobile automotive repair services in Phoenix, AZ. In 1992, he became the successful business owner of B&B Automotive in Congress, AZ until his retirement in 2006.



Larry knew no strangers. He will be remembered for his relentless unfiltered sense of humor and being incredibly outspoken. His hobbies included reading (both books and the newspaper) as well as tracking the weather. He also had a passion for sports, his favorites being little league baseball and women's collegiate softball. He was incredibly supportive of his grandchildren's sporting events and made an effort to regularly attend games.



Larry is survived by his wife, Janice Swift; 4 children: Laurie Jean Swift, Larry Swift Jr., Lisa Thul, Cheryl Fite; 14 grandchildren: Lindsey Sadler, Samantha Endsley, Jacob Swift, Clayton Winders, Zachary Swift, Brennen Thul, Joshua Swift, Hannah Swift, Amanda Titus, Nathanael Swift, Farren Titus, Nicolette Titus, Cori Winders and Callee Fite; 8 great-grandchildren: Larkin Endsley, Chiara Nichols, Kensleigh Winders, Emerson Endsley, Rosemary Nichols, Ryan Winders, Ranger Thul, Wesley Connally. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Richard Allen and Cecil Kathleen Badger and grandparents, Allen Swift and Gleda Shepherd.



Family and friends are invited to gather at his public memorial services, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 10, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 65 N. Lazy Fox Drive, Wickenburg, AZ. A graveside dedication will be held at the Wickenburg Cemetery, 855 Kellis Road with a Celebration of Life following at Rose Cliff Studio 47447 N. US HWY 60/89, Morristown, AZ.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Life Changers Inc. P.O. BOX 3096 Wickenburg, AZ 85358-3096.
