Laura A. Culp
Laura A. Culp, age 91, died on February 16, 2022 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She had relocated there to be close to her daughter, Anita in 2014. Laura was an Arizona native, born in Phoenix on September 18, 1930. Laura married Jack Culp (deceased) November 9, 1946.
Laura loved her State and lived in many states but spent most of her life in Yavapai County. She was an outdoor girl, roaming over her beloved Rich Hill that her family owned part of. She grew up rough and tough living in that area. She loved and rode horses and helped Jack in lots of outdoor work. All animals big and small were loved by her except rattlers!
Although Laura and Jack had 2 daughters they also helped raise some of their siblings at different times. Our mom was a great cook and always had enough food for extras. There were always lost of beans, biscuits and gravy, tortillas, hot chilies (her favorite), fresh bread and Nita's favorite's wonderful donuts.
Mom had many talents: sewing, oil painting, music and dancing that she shared with her grandchildren.
Laura is survived by 2 daughters, Alice Owens (Terry) and Anita Morrison (Gary) 2 granddaughters, (1 deceased) 4 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons and 1 great-great grandson. Services for Laura will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Genung Cemetery in Peeples Valley, Arizona.
"We kept our promise and brought you home"
There will be a pot luck following services at the American Legion in Yarnell.
