Linda Kubler

Linda Lou Kubler (76) passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023 surrounded by those that love her.



Linda was born April 12, 1947 to Miles and Viola Preston in the original Wickenburg Community Hospital in Wickenburg, Arizona. Three years later her sister was born in the same hospital. Their grandma used to tease them and say they were born in jail because the hospital they were born in later became the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Wickenburg/Wickenburg Police Department.



Although in High School Linda’s biggest dream was to go to New York and be on Broadway – she discovered she wanted to be a Registered Nurse. In 1966 she started nursing school at Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Phoenix. This was a three year diploma school with ASU affiliation. She graduated in 1968 and was hired at Wickenburg community hospital the summer of ‘68. Her first Director of Nursing gave her the advice that, “God will never give more than you can handle” and she kept that with her throughout her nursing career and other accomplishments in life.



Linda married Ron Schlieker in 1966 and they were blessed with their daughter, Ronda, in 1969 and their son, Scott, in 1971. Linda always wanted to be a mother and was so excited and happy for the gift of their two children.



In the early days of her nursing career at WCH, she worked in the medical/surgical unit, labor and delivery and emergency department. She held many different positions such as team leader, nurse manager, in-service director and co-director of public relations and marketing, where she organized events and musicals for the hospital. At the same time, she continued to raise her children while taking an active role in their activities and loving all the experiences.



In 1987 she married Carl Kubler and loved welcoming her two step-children, Daffney and Jeremy into her life.



In the 80’s Linda attended the University of Phoenix and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The last eight years at WCH she managed the Infusion Center. She loved all of her patients no matter what area she worked. Linda retired in 2018 after working 43 years at Wickenburg Community Hospital and being a registered nurse for 50 years. Her hospital family through the years included so many from all departments, and she enjoyed working with each and every one of them.



Linda chose to love what she did! Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved being a wife, mother, a grandmother, great- grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a great-aunt and a nurse. She loved her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sister and her nieces and nephews.



Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Scott Schlieker, and her great nephew, Dylan. Linda is survived by her daughter: Ronda Schlieker Cunningham (Chris); grandchildren: Emily Cunningham Rich (Brady), Ashlee Cunningham, Hayden Cunningham, Charles Schlieker, Christian Schlieker and Cadance Finn (John); great-grandchildren: Dylan (Charles), Christian Jr., Jaxson, Haven (Christian), Ivori (Cadance), Austyn Jane, Reef (Emily); sister: Bonnie Weber; nieces: Melissa Brinkman (Andy), Shelby Holleran (Tim); great nieces and nephews: Preston, Madison, Tatum, Mackenzie; great-great nephew: Miles Travis Brinkman.



An open house will be held to celebrate Linda's life and memories on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10 am – 12 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building at 65 N Lazy Fox Drive, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. All friends and family are welcome to join in remembering Linda. Please come with a memory of Linda to leave with her family. Desserts will be provided.
