Loyce Botterbusch

January 7, 1960 — May 31, 2012

Loyce Rene' Botterbusch (Shockley) passed away on May 31st, 2012. Born, January 07, 1960 to Proud Parents B.C. and Joyce Shockley in Denver, Colorado. Everyone called her Rene. Rene was blessed and God's hand was on her from the time she was a young child being healed from Kidney problems that she was up for a Kidney transplant. Rene had a warm and gentle spirit that shown the love of Jesus in her life. Rene was talented in music from the time she started learning to the play the piano at the age of five to competing in Talent competitions as a teenager. While in College she learned to play the large pipe Organ. She used these talents in ministry by becoming the pianist and filled in when needed as an Organist at numerous Assembly of God Churches as an adult. Rene was also talented with craftwork. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch, cake decorating to name a few - Rene had the ability to learn different crafts and then extend/combine them into whatever the task was before her. Rene would look at dresses for her daughter in the stores and then would go back and take pieces of other patterns along with her touch and come up with beautiful dresses. Rene made numerous Wedding-quality cakes for anniversaries and other cerebrations. Rene even designed and with the help from her Father crafted an Urn for their oldest Daughter; a design that when presented to the company doing these designs said it would take months to be done. Rene married her Husband, Roy and they were truly each other's helpmates raising their family and in ministry. Church and Family were a focus of her life. Rene was active in the Assemblies of God Girls Ministry both as a teacher and mentor to her daughters and those in the church. Rene and Roy sang together even before they were married and even sang a duet together during their wedding. When Roy felt the call to go into ministry, Rene was there every step of the way and become a natural Pastor's wife. Rev Roy and Rene are on staff as the associate Pastor of Wittmann A/G church and apart of the Worship team. When a number of years ago the Senior Pastor said the church ministry was going bi-lingual, Rene took on the task converting all the praise and worship music bi-lingual. During these 6 years at Wittmann A/G her musical talents blossomed writing new praise and worship music many bi-lingual. Many times you would see Rene writing in her day planner or a piece of paper whenever the Lord inspired her. Rene would surprise the team soon afterwards with both lyrics and melody to another praise and worship song that would touch heaven when sung. Rene had numerous medical problems that any one illness would be a challenge for most people. Rene never complained but graciously dealt with them one day at a time. Rene was looking forward to her first Grandson due mid-July and had plans on being there for his birth in Sidney Australia, but the Lord had other plans and we know that she is in Heaven singing and dancing without pain or sorrow with her daughter Melody and other family members who have gone on before her. Rene is survived by her Mother and Father, Joyce and BC Shockley and her brother, Ron Shockley and her Husband Roy Botterbusch and three of their four children, Leslie Williamson, and Kevin and Elissa Botterbusch and preceded their older daughter Melody Botterbusch. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, June 20th at 7:00 PM at the Wittmann Assembly of God Church.
