Flanagan, Michael "Mike" 68, of Glendale/Yarnell, AZ passed away on June 17, 2015. Mike was a 3rd Generation Native of Arizona born to Katie Brewster and Thomas "Gene" Flanagan. He along with his sister Christine, grew up in Buckeye where he graduated Buckeye HS. Mike then briefly attended NAU before the took a shot at being a Rodeo Cowboy, which he would tell you he wasn't very good at. He spent most of his professional life as an IronWorker and a member of IronWorkers Union 75 until his retirement. He was proud to say he had played a part in building some of the largest structures still standing in Phoenix and the surrounding Southwest today. After his retirement he turned his time to his passions of rebuilding/restoring Model A Fords and delving into the history of our great country. He loved the Civil War and often would share his knowledge with anyone who would listen. He was strong in his beliefs, his love of his family and of his country. Mike is survived by his Mother, Katie Balmas, His Step Father Dale, Sister Christine. His wife Barbara and his 4 grown children Amy, Andrew "Jocko", Amanda and Sylvia. Mike was also proud to be "Papa" to 13 Grandchildren. At Mikes Request, in lew of formal services, an informal gathering of friends and family is being held at his daughters home. We welcome those who knew Mike to stop by and share your stories to help us celebrate his life. The gathering of celebration will be held TUESDAY, June 23rd in Peoria, AZ. Vistors are asked to pay respects between 4pm and 7pm.
