Michael Curtis SchoumakerFebruary 14, 1938 - February 21, 2019Age 81 years oldMike passed away Thursday morning at 3:10am surrounded by his family and family friends after battling lung cancer for two years.He was born in Minneapolis to Viola and Mitchell Schoumaker. He attended West High School and continued his education at Dunwoody Institute.Mike met his wife Donna at First Baptist Church in downtown Minneapolis and were married in 1961. They were married for 57 years.Mike was a Navy Veteran of eight years in Avionics and a journeyman electrician for the IBEW Union 292 (MN) and 640 (AZ). He retired in 1998.They lived in Champlin, MN from 1964 to 1976 and moved then moved to Wickenburg.Mike was survived by his wife Donna, daughter Connie Johnson (Eric), Curtis (Jessica) and his grandchildren, Colin Johnson (25), Erin Johnson (23) and Mitchell Schoumaker (13), his two sisters Camilla Kovensky and Linda Walseth both from Minnesota.He was preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Schoumaker (1945) and his mother Viola (1998), uncles Theodore, Arthur and aunt Vivian.Mike enjoyed camping, boating, and flying his Aeronca Chief. He always had a project, or ten, going around the house! He also loved controlling the clicker for the TV!!Services will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 10:30 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 930 N. Tegner St, Wickenburg, AZ 85390.A Memorial picnic will be held on Minnesota later in May.
