Nicholas Bistodeau

March 19, 1990 — January 10, 2019

Nicholas Larson Bistodeau, 28, died unexpectedly on Jan. 10, 2019, at his home in Wickenburg. Nick was born March 19, 1990, in Phoenix to Joseph L. Bistodeau and Lori Larson (fka Bistodeau). Nick attended School in Wickenburg until he moved to Cambridge, Minn., in 2008 where he graduated from Cambridge-Isanti High School in 2009. Nick participated in football and soccer but his true passion was for all things motorcycles. Growing up, Nick spent his summers camping at Whitehorse Lake in Arizona and in Minnesota at the race track with his grandpa Barney and grandma Karen along with cousins Tony and Sammie. In 2009, Nick was fortunate enough to travel to Hawaii to stay with his Uncle Brad and Marci, which Nick always said was one of the best times of his life. There were also several family vacations to Rocky Point, Mexico, Cabo San Lucas and a 12-day road trip from Wickenburg to Alaska with his father and sister. Nick's favorite trip though was Six Flags Magic Mountain in California where he once rode "The Ninja," 12 times. Nick raced competitively for many years and he followed his passion for motorcycles by becoming a powersports set-up tech/mechanic at Larsons Cycle in Cambridge from 2009-2016. Nick returned home to Wickenburg in 2016 to be reunited with the love of his life, Calynn Barbe. Nick was employed at Los Caballeros Golf Club at the time of his death and was making plans to attend the motorcycle mechanics institute in Phoenix. Nick will be remembered for his intense love for all animals, in particular, English Bulldogs, his loyalty to friends and family, his generosity, motorcycles and, of course, pickles. We will all miss Nick's mischievous grin, complete with dimples, and that twinkle in his eye. Nick's unique laugh was so contagious. People who either met or knew Nick often commented on what a polite, respectful and well-mannered young man he was. Nick was a fantastic fisherman as well. Nick was preceded in death by his grandpa Leon Bistodeau; grandpa Barney Larson; uncle John Larson; cousin Berkley Bistodeau and his beloved first bulldog, Lucy. Nick is survived by his mother, Lori Larson of Cambridge, Minn.; father, Joseph Bistodeau and step-mom Cindy Bistodeau of Wickenburg; Nick's "canine son," Weezy; brother Joey Bistodeau and nephew Joey Bistodeau, Jr., both of Cambridge; sister, Rachel Bistodeau of San Jose, Costa Rica; paternal grandmother, Bea Bistodeau; maternal grandmother, Karen Larson as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who will forever miss his humor, dimples, laughter and antics. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you support Nick's love for animals by donating to the Wickenburg Humane Society in Nick's name.
