Norma Jean Pope, age 80, passed away August 13, 2015 surrounded by her family in Tonopah, Arizona. Norma was born March 4, 1935 in Gulfport, Mississippi to Samuel & Lena Walker. She married Charles H. Pope and they made their home briefly in Gulfport before relocating to North Carolina. Norma was a homemaker and mother and was active in the Cedar Creek Church of God in Fayetteville, N.C. She was quite talented and taught ceramics and painting. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2000 and brothers Sammy, Earl & Jimmy and sisters Mary Ellen, Ruth and Lola Mae. She is survived by children: Charles Pope, Jr. of Florida, Cynthia Green of California, Pamela Lugo of North Carolina, Samuel Pope of Florida, Roma Fay Mudge of North Carolina and Norma Jean Lane of Tonopah, Az, Lena Victoria Maultsby of Fayetteville, NC. and 30 grandchildren and numerous great grandchilren. Funeral services will be held in North Carolina.
