Paul "Russ" Greene of Wickenburg died February 15th at the age of 89. Russ was born January 10, 1922 in Beardstown, Illinois. He married Pearl Harn in 1942. He served in Central Burma and India Burma from 1944-1946 as a Air Force airplane electrician. He returned home with numerous decorations and citations including 3 Overseas Service Bars, 2 Bronze Battle Stars, WWII Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Russ and Pearl moved to Arizona with their five children in 1957. He worked for Pollay Electric and Arizona Builders before starting Wickenburg Electric in 1963. He wired much in the town and surrounding areas as an electrician. Pearl died in 1981 and Russ married Maggie Pumphrey in 1982 and moved to Congress. He retired in 1986 but kept working part-time for his son in law Ric Ball, who owned Ric's Electric. For the last four years, Russ has been a dialysis patient and spent much of his time traveling to and from Phoenix for treatments. He enjoyed reading westerns, doing word puzzles and watching DVDs. Russ always had a smile and loved to talk to people wherever he went. He loved to tell stories about his life travels and experiences. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl, second wife Maggie, his brothers Kermett, Kenneth, and sisters Mary and Mildred. He is survived by sons Gary (Carol) Greene of Prescott Valley, Terry (Lynn) Greene of Peeples Valley, Don (Debbie) Greene of Albuquerque, NM, and Robert Greene of Wickenburg and daughter Lila Sue (Ric) Ball. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 26th at 11:00 AM at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
