Moving to Wickenburg would change her life forever. It was there she met, and a couple of years later, married Leonard Hershkowitz. Together they raised 3 children: Lisa, Wendy & Michael. After Michael entered kindergarten, Peggy went to beauty school. Upon completion she went to work for a local beauty shop owner but soon she opened her won salon. Peggy's California Concept and later Cinco J Beauty & Barber Shop. Peggy & Leonard worked side-by-side for years. He the barber and Peggy the beautician. For 25+ years, Peggy had a loyal clientele that knew she had a wonderful listening ear and was the best at her chosen profession. Peggy loved to travel with Hawaii being her favorite place to visit. She enjoyed camping with her kids & grandkids, jeep rides & cookouts, shopping & lunch with her girls. She loved the holidays and always made this a special time for her family. There was nothing on this earth more important to Peggy than her children and 8 grandchildren. They truly were her most precious treasure. Peggy loved the Lord and was a devoted member of the Church of Christ for most of her life. She made sure she raised her children in church so that later in their lives, they too would know and love the Lord. Little did her family know just how much they would need the peace & presence of God. Peggy began her long battle with Alzheimer's over 14 years ago. It slowly and steadily took her from the family that loved her so much. On Sunday, September 20th, Peggy left her earthy home in exchange for a home in Heaven.
