Phyllis Bulick

August 4, 1925 — May 27, 2021

Phyllis Jane Norris, Child of God, loving Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma, peacefully went home to her LORD on May 27, 2021... just 2 months shy of 96! Phyllis was born August 4, 1925 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of 3 children born to George R. Norris and Etta Mae Marshall and was raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, Phyllis became a WUG (Western Union Girl)! Then she met Robert Bulick (Bob) after he returned to Altoona at the end of the war and serving In the Navy in San Diego, Ca. They were married in Altoona on May 10, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church and had two daughters Shirley Ann and Donna Lou Bulick. In 1953 they moved their family to Manhattan Beach, California where they lived for 8 years. In 1960 they moved to San Diego where Bob & Phyllis lived for 48 years raising their 2 daughters. Phyllis did secretarial work and volunteered at the Church office and a local hospital. She loved to Knit, by hand and Machine and was very Crafty, making all kinds of things and hand made the most beautiful, red velvet Christmas Stockings for every member of the family.

They were very active in the General Dynamics Lapidary Rock Hounds Club and loved traveling the country in their motor home, touching every state in the nation (Hawaii by cruise ship), especially loved Alaska and also went to Mexico and Canada. They also traveled to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland and England.

They loved playing Pinochle with 10 other friends and potluck. They finally moved to Livermore in northern California, to be closer to family in September 2007. Phyllis was married to Bob for 63 years when he passed away in 2010 of complications from Alzheimer's. in September 2016, Phyllis moved to Wickenburg, Az with her daughter Shirley and husband Ron where they enjoyed the Sonoran Desert, Monsoons and the friendly people at Wickenburg Ranch.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter Shirley, 2 grandchildren Karey Anderson Finn and Ryan Anderson, and 6 great grandchildren-Sarah, Shaun, Devin and Kelli Finn and Ainsley and Aliana Anderson. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and youngest daughter, Donna just last September. She attests her longevity to 3 things...Bourbon, Beer and Bananas!

Please, put this small black stone in your pocket and every time you reach in and touch it, remember this beautiful desert and those who preceded us, Phyllis and Bob personally found them for you to be treasured!

The celebration of Phyllis's life is Saturday July 17th @ 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg and a Reception following at Wickenburg Ranch, in Sophie's Parlor. Please join us for food, drink and to share memories of Phyllis!

A family-led graveside memorial is planned for Phyllis and Bob, together again, at their final resting site in the Prescott National Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona, on July 19th, 2021 with Military Honors for Bob.

Donations to the Alzheimer's Association and Hospice of the Valley would be appreciated: http://www.alz.org
