Richard "Dick" Kloos, age 89, passed away on May 19, 2014. Dick was born November 24, 1924 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania to George & Leora Kloos. He was raised and attended schools there and later enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the 17th Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts during his service in WWII. A graduate of LaSalle University in Pennsylvania, Dick met and married Lois Stout in 1953. They lived in Philadelphia, Chicago, Massachussets and Batavia, NY, before retiring to Wickenburg. Dick made his career in purchasing in the Heavy Equipment manufacturing industry and was a plant manager with Eaton Corporation when he retired. Dick served his community in many ways, attended Mass daily and was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and with St. Vicent de Paul Society. Dick was an avid gardener, enjoyed bird watching and was often seen with his binoculars. He was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy and Marion. He is survived by his loving wife Lois of Wickenburg and children, Janet Kloos of Bothell, Washington, Barbara (Robert) Griffin of Lynden, Washington and David Kloos of New York, Grandchildren: Erin (Miguel) Zavala, Dane (Michelle) Griffin and Zach Kloos and great-grandchildren: Estevan Soto, Angel, Javier, Cruz Zavala, Aviv, Berlin, Carys Griffin, a niece Lois and nephews. Funeral Mass and military honors will be said on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rosary just prior at 9:30 AM at the Church.
