Rollie Allen

Rollin B. "Rollie" Allen was born January 15, 1921 in Judson, Minnesota to Glen Allen and Veva Ballard Allen. Rollie was raised there and attended schools in Nicollet, Minnesota. He enlisted in the U.S. Airforce serving in WWII and later in the USAF Reserves attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. Following his military service Rollie returned to the area and married Lois Berberich in June of 1947 making their home in Mankato. Rollie worked primarily with Johnson Fishing Reels Company where he worked in quality control for over 28 years. While in Mankato he was a member of the Veterans of Foreigh Wars and the Moose Lodge. Rollie and Lois moved to Arizona in 1983 settling in Wickenburg. He was active in the community and a member of the Kellis-Draper Post 12 of the American Legion as well as a member of the First Presbyterian Church and spent many hours volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce. Rollie was also a member of the Classic Car Club of Wickenburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Allen in 1969, brothers: Harold, Eugene & Eldon Allen. He is survived by his wife Lois of Wickenburg and brother in law John Berberich of Bay Port, MN., sister in law Mae Allen of North Ridge, CA., and nephew Larry Berberich (Susan) of Brunswick, Maine and niece Gay Bowers (Jerry) of Billings, Montana and several other nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 13th at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg. The family suggests memorial contributions in Rollie's name may be made to the Wickenburg Humane Society.
