Shirley Dickinson

September 22, 1935 — May 26, 2021

Shirley D. Dickinson, was born September 22, 1935, and died on May 26, 2021, at the age of 85 in her home in Wickenburg, AZ, where she had lived for 62 years. She was born to Victor and Grace (Hawkins) Estes in Superior, Arizona, and spent her childhood years in Overgaard, Arizona. Shirley was the first child of four: Shirley, Bill, Gary and Larry.During Shirley's high school years her dad accepted a job and moved the family to Prescott Arizona. In 1954 Shirley's senior year of high school her family moved again, she chose to stay in Prescott and graduate. While living with her best friend Nova Jean Dickinson and family, she met the love of her life. Frank L. Dickinson who after four years of service in the United States Navy returned home from serving in the Korean War area and they were married by the Justice of Peace on May 07, 1955, in Gallup, New Mexico.



After Frank and Shirley settled in Wickenburg and their three children were in school full time, Shirley went to work for the Wickenburg School District. She worked at the Wickenburg High School and retired after 22 years of service.



Shirley and Frank spent their retirement years traveling on their motorcycle to the grandchildren's sports games during the school years.



Later they enjoyed life traveling in their RV and riding their 4-wheeler. While Frank was fishing, Shirley listened to music and read books. They spent the summers enjoying the cooler weather in Williams, AZ. where Shirley got to see a baby elk being born in the forest. They enjoyed the outdoors time together.



She is survived by her sons, David (Jeanie), Steven (Diana), and daughter Vicki (Steve);



9 grandchildren: 20 great grandchildren and two brothers Bill and Larry as well as many nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12,2021 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with graveside services to follow at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
