Tara (Wilder) Sorenson passed away on October 29, 2024 in Aguila, Arizona at the age of 71
after a courageous battle with lymphoma.
Tara and her fraternal twin brother, Todd were born in Lovell, Wyoming on July 17, 1953 to
Ralph and Louise Wilder. Tara grew up in Lovell and graduated from Lovell High School in 1972.
After high school she went to Salt Lake City where she went to business college to be a legal
secretary.
Tara married Gary Meier in 1973 and they lived in Powell, Wyoming where their 2 sons, Tyler
and Troy were both born.
After divorcing, Tara and the boys moved to Cody in 1985 where she began her 15 year career
as a legal secretary for Ed Webster. She met Steve Sorenson and they were married in 1987.
In 2000 after both the boys had graduated, Tara retired from Webster Law and traveled with
Steve building Power Lines. In the next two and a half decades they traveled all over the west
and midwest making friends everywhere they went.
During that time she dedicated her life to her family and her grandchildren. She loved watching
dance recitals, school plays and various sporting events. Tara was a kind and generous soul
and always helped anyone in need. Her faith was strong and she was ready to be with Jesus in
Heaven.
Tara is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Louise Wilder. She is survived by her
Husband Steve Sorenson of Cody, Wyoming; She is survived by her older
sister Pam (Blain) Miller of Price Utah; twin brother Todd (Debbie) Wilder of Byron, Wyoming;
sister Debra Ipson of Junction, Utah; brother Thomas (Pauline) Wilder of Byron, Wyoming; sons
Tyler (Lisa) Meier of Cody, Wyoming and their daughters Nyah and Ava; Troy (Michelle) Meier of
Glendale, Arizona and Troy's son Mason Stewart of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces and
nephews.
A service will be held on November 8, 2024 at 10:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church in
Wickenburg, Arizona. A celebration of life will be held in Cody, Wyoming in the summer of 2025.
