William Woessner

William "Bill" Woessner, 86 of Wickenburg, Az, died at his home in November 2019 with his loving wife and family by his side.Bill was born in Ardsley, NY on September 15, 1933, son to the late Agnes (Fisher) and Henry Woessner. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Holland) Woessner of Wickenburg, Arizona, his brother Henry (Susan) Woessner of Wisconsin, his children: Lisa (Sean) Shields of California, William (Nancy) Woessner of Wisconsin, three grandchildren: Joseph and Nicholas Shields and Corbin Woessner, six step-children: Christine (Michael) Zika, Willam (Sherry) Hadrian, Melonie Hadrian, Laura (Phillip) Frazee, Andra Hadrian, Rodney (Erin) Hadrian of California, fifteen step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchilden. After serving in the Navy, Bill received his Masters degree from NYU in 1961. He worked 20 years as the Superintendent of Education South Hampton Unified School District in New York and frequently visited Arizona where he enjoyed team roping and playing tennis. He moved to Wickenburg, Arizona in 1986. He was a cowboy from the beginning to the end and was happiest on horse-back and loving man's best friend. Bill was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Rancho de los Caballeros Golf Resort. He will be remembered for his strong faith in our Lord, deep love for his wife, quick wit, relentless teasing and yet stern loving talks with his children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley for their tender care. A family gathering will be held at a later date to honor Bill. In lieu of flowers, please consider a tribute donation to Hospice of the Valley or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
